City elections are held every year, the first Saturday in May from 7:00 am- 7:00 pm.

City council is comprised of five (5) Aldermen/women and one (1) Mayor. Each one represents the entire city. Aldermen are elected for two-year staggered terms, with three Aldermen elected in even numbered years and two, with the Mayor, in odd numbered years.
